Castleford have announced a deal which will see Greg Eden return to the Super League with his first club.

Eden started his career with his hometown club but left with just four appearances to his name.

The 25-year-old went on to play for Huddersfield, Hull KR and currently Brisbane, but will be back in England on a two-year deal from next season.

"Coming back to the UK was a massive decision for me to make," Eden said.

"There's no better team for me to return home to than Castleford, my hometown club and the team I grew up supporting. I'm really looking forward to the new challenge ahead."

Eden emerged as a player of some calibre during his time with Huddersfield, which led to coach Nathan Brown making comparisons with Australian great Billy Slater.

He has found opportunities hard to come by in the NRL but Tigers coach Daryl Powell is excited by his capture.

"I am delighted to say we have signed Greg Eden for the next two years," he said.

"His athletic ability is exceptional which is key in order to play at full-back in our team. I have been impressed with his development since he went to Australia and I am looking forward to seeing him achieve his rich potential with us over the coming years."
