Justin Carney has been suspended by the Castleford Tigers while an internal investigation takes place.
The Australian winger has been a regular in the Tigers' side this season, scoring 18 tries, but will not be part of their plans until the investigation is completed.
A brief statement from the club read: "Castleford Tigers RLFC can confirm that Justin Carney has been suspended from the club with immediate effect, whilst an internal investigation is undertaken.
"Castleford Tigers will not be making any further comment at this time."
The Tigers are currently fifth in the Super League Super 8s table and are next in action away to Huddersfield Giants next Thursday, live on Sky Sports.
