Poole Pirates extended their lead at the top of the Sky Sports Elite League as they returned to action with a 49-41 victory over bottom-of-the-table Belle Vue Aces.
But despite the win, it was far from clear cut for much of the meeting at Wimborne Road, as they led y just two with three heats remaining.
However, their Turbo Twins of Chris Holder and Darcy Ward lead them home to maximum points.
Holder was the class act of the evening as he roared his way to a perfect 15-point maximum.
Darcy Ward also hit double figures whilst Pole Krzysztof Kasprzak grabbed paid ten on his return to British speedway.
Some bad news for Poole was an injury early on for Sam Masters, who suffered wrist and neck injuries.
Belle Vue, who were unlucky not to pick up a point, had youngster Craig Cook in excellent form with paid 14.
Aces chief Chris Morton said: "The team rode very well and gave Poole some concerns needing a 5-1 in heat 15 to get the full three points."
