Two greats of the game - Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic - play in the China Open quarter-finals on Friday, live on Sky Sports.

World No 1 Djokovic continues on his quest for a fourth consecutive and sixth career title in Beijing from 12.30pm on Sky Sports 3.

The Serb has breezed through his first two games beating Simone Bolelli 6-1 6-1 and home favourite Ze Zhang 6-2 6-1. But a last eight tie against John Isner could give the 10-time Grand Slam winner something to think about.

Isner, ranked 13th in the world, came from a set down to beat the in-form Dominic Thiem in the second round and is well respected as one of the toughest opponents on tour.

The big serving American has beaten Djokovic twice from nine previous meetings, both coming in US Series tournaments.

From 5.30am on Friday Nadal is in action against another American, world No 30. Jack Sock.

The pair played each other in the last 16 of the French Open earlier this year, with 14-time Grand Slam champion coming out the winner.

Rafael Nadal has moved a step closer to qualifying for this year's World Tour Finals by reaching the quarter-finals of the China Open

The Spaniard is still looking for qualifying points for this year's World Tour Finals and is set to meet Djokovic in Sunday's final if all goes to plan.

Though Nadal could have to get past Fabio Fognini in the semi-finals, that's if the Italian can beat Pablo Cuevas on Friday. Fognini has an impressive winning-record against Nadal, winning three of their last four encounters.

In the fourth quarter-final David Ferrer takes on Yen-Hsun Lu for a semi-final berth against Djokovic. Chinese Tapei hitter Lu, ranked 100th in the world, has put in some good performances this week to beat Adrian Mannarino and Viktor Troicki, but is likely to find things difficult against the gritty Ferrer.
