The huge tie featuring the world No 1 against the world No 2 is on at 1pm.

Murray had endured a notorious eight-match losing streak to his rival Djokovic that dated back to his famous 2013 Wimbledon triumph until snapping it with victory at the Montreal Masters in August.

Rather than fear playing Djokovic for a repeat of his two-year win-less run, Sky Sports expert Barry Cowan insists he should relish the chance to hone his tactic to defeat the world's top player.

"They seem to be magnets for each other," Cowan said.

"Whether you lose six times or 16 times, it doesn't make any difference. You've just got to find a way to play him."

Due to an intricacy of the ATP rankings, Murray overtook Roger Federer as the world No 2 prior to the Shanghai tournament. But the switch wasn't soon enough to prevent him being in the same half of the draw as Djokovic which is why the world's two top ranked players will meet in the semi-finals rather than the final.

Before they lock horns, Nadal will attempt to reproduce his impressive victory over Stan Wawrinka in Friday's quarter-final.

The 14-time Grand Slam winner looked at his imperious best as he defeated Wawrinka for the loss of just three games but comes up against Tsonga who might be the dark horse but has a flair and eccentricity that could carry him into Sunday's final.
