Kyle Edmund books place in Qatar Open quarter-finals

Kyle Edmund moved into his first ATP Tour quarter-final with a 5-7 6-3 7-6 win over Spain's Daniel Munoz de la Nava at the Qatar Open in Doha.
Edmund, who will be 21 on Friday, dropped the first set but showed plenty of doggedness to level the match and dug deep in the third to progress 7-3 in a tie-break.
Reward for the British No 3 from Beverley is a mouth-watering clash with world No 6 Tomas Berdych in the last eight on Thursday.
Berdych looked in fine early-season form as he demolished Damir Dzumhur from Bosnia-Herzegovina 6-0 6-4 in just over an hour.
Edmund had to qualify for the tournament and then beat Slovakia's Martin Klizan in the first round, results which were already enough to guarantee him a career-best ranking next week.
He will be in the world's top 90 players when the next set of rankings is released on Monday, and victory over Berdych a day before his birthday would improve that further.
Edmund can also look forward to the year's first grand slam without the worry of having to qualify, as Richard Gasquet's withdrawal from the Australian Open ensured he already has a place in the first round draw proper.
