The 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic has announced that he has split with coach Goran Ivanisevic.

Former Wimbledon champion Ivanisevic teamed up with his fellow Croatian Cilic in 2013 and the pair were celebrating Grand Slam success the following year, when Cilic triumphed in New York.

The duo last worked together at Wimbledon this year, where Cilic surrendered a two-set lead and lost to Roger Federer in the semi-finals.

Cilic wrote on his website on Thursday: "I wanted to share this news with you. Unfortunately, I am no longer working with my coach Goran Ivanisevic.

"We started to work together in September 2013 and we had a lot of success during that period, especially winning the US Open in 2014.

"It was a huge privilege to work with Goran, I enjoyed our work all this time and Goran helped me to reach many goals.
