Home favourite Dominic Thiem beat Andy Murray to claim the £204,000 jackpot in the second edition of Tie Break Tens in Vienna.

Thiem claimed a 10-5 win over the world No 2 in the final with Murray losing in the final for the second successive year after being beaten by Kyle Edmund at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015.

Murray is competing in the ATP 500 event in the Austrian capital this week and performed well in the lucrative event, which utilises a first to 10 points tie-break system.

But Thiem raced into a 7-1 lead in the final and Murray was never able to recover from his early deficit.

Murray had earlier beaten Goran Ivanisevic 10-7 in his first match and then ran off nine successive points in beating this summer's Wimbledon hero Marcus Willis 10-3 before defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 10-7 to reach the final.

Thiem had overcome Tommy Haas and Tsonga in his group and then beat Ivanisevic in the semi-finals.
