Heather Watson and Laura Robson are among the players handed wildcards for next month's Wimbledon Championships.

Watson and Robson will be joined in the women's singles by fellow Britons Naomi Broady and Katie Boulter, with world No 7 Johanna Konta the only British player to qualify through the rankings.

Watson has dropped outside the top 100 - now ranked 126 in the world - after a difficult 12 months, while Robson continues to work her way slowly back up the rankings to 188 following debilitating wrist problems.

Davis Cup stalwart James Ward has been given a wildcard into the men's singles, but there is no place for 2016 hero Marcus Willis.

Willis caused something of a sensation with his run through pre-qualifying and qualifying before going out in the second round against Roger Federer on Centre Court.

However, he will have to go through qualifying again if he is to try and repeat his run from last summer.

There could be more wildcards into the main draw added before the tournament gets underway on July 3, with three spaces left free in the men's and women's singles.
