Andy Murray withdraws from first game at Hurlingham Club as precaution with sore hip

Two-time Wimbledon champion still planning to play the second exhibition match Friday

Andy Murray has withdrawn from an intended exhibition game at the Hurlingham Club on Tuesday with a sore hip.

A spokesperson for Murray said the world No 1, who starts his Wimbledon title defence next week, had pulled out as a precaution.

Murray, who had been scheduled to face Frenchman Lucas Pouille, could still play in a further game at the Aspall Tennis Classic on Friday.

He had hoped to get in two matches at this week's tournament after being knocked out by Jordan Thompson in the opening round at Queen's last week.

Murray has endured a frustrating 2017 punctuated with health problems, including shingles, an elbow injury and two bouts of flu.
