Andy Murray advanced into the second round at Wimbledon with a comfortable straight-sets victory over Liam Broady.
In Murray's first meeting against a fellow Brit at the tournament, he was rarely troubled on his way to a 6-2 6-3 6-4 victory in one hour and 42 minutes.
Broady did fashion a couple of break-point opportunities in the third set, but was unable to take either of them.
"The first match is always tricky and it was pretty breezy out there at the beginning," said Murray. "We've practised together in the past. It's not easy playing someone you know, so I did ok."
Next up for Murray is Yen-Hsun Lu, who won their first meeting in the 2008 Olympics but has lost the last three without winning a set, including at Wimbledon in 2013.
There was a familiar face in Murray's box in the form of Ivan Lendl, the Czech having recently returned to the world No 2's coaching team after helping him to victory at Wimbledon three years ago.
Broady, meanwhile, was watched by his older sister Naomi, who lost in the first round on Monday.
The world No 235 soon found himself behind and, even though he was warmly applauded when he won his first game for 3-1, it was Murray who took the opening set in 25 minutes.
A double fault handed Murray the advantage in the second set and he closed it out without too much trouble.
A break in the first game of the third set put Murray further in charge, with Broady unable to take either of the break-point chances he created in response.
Instead it was Murray who sealed victory shortly before the rain came down and the Centre Court roof was closed.
