Andy Murray has been drawn in the same group as Stan Wawrinka and Rafael Nadal for the ATP World Tour Finals.

World No 2 Murray automatically started in the Ilie Nastase group and French Open champion Wawrinka, Nadal and David Ferrer were picked out to complete the four-man line-up, with the tournament starting this Sunday at The O2 in London, live on Sky Sports.

Djokovic, the world No 1, started separately in the Stan Smith group and was joined by long-term rival Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych and Kei Nishikori.

Murray has not faced Wawrinka for over two years, losing in three sets to the Swiss player in the US Open quarter-finals in 2013, but the Scot has won eight of their 14 matches.

The British No 1 already holds a win over Nadal this year, sealing a straight sets victory over the Spaniard at the Madrid Masters in May.

Nadal holds a far superior head-to-head record, with 15 wins to Murray's six, but the 14-time Grand Slam winner has struggled to find his best form during a year which saw him end his lengthy reign as champion at Roland Garros.

Ferrer, the final member of Murray's group, has lost twice this year to the Scot in the French Open quarter-finals and at the semi-finals of this month's Paris Masters.

Murray has spent the last few days practising on the clay courts for the Davis Cup final against Belgium later this month, but will switch to the hard surface at The O2 when the tournament starts this weekend.

"I haven't played against Stan for a long time," he said. "Rafa, we only played once in the last couple of years. David I played a couple of weeks ago. Obviously all the matches are tough here, but there should be some fun ones.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic says he's hoping to continue the best form of his life into the ATP World Tour Finals

"I feel good, I was practising at Queen's on the clay courts the last four days with the Davis Cup in mind in 10 days or so. I feel good, I feel fresh and hopefully I can play some good tennis this week."

Djokovic will renew his enthralling rivalry with Federer, which has seen two of the sport's finest champions pick up 21 wins apiece.

The Serb has claimed three of the Grand Slam titles on offer during another dominant year and won his most recent encounter with Federer in the US Open final.

"The bottom line is that we all love the sport, have great passion to compete," said Djokovic. "It's been a long season for everybody, so this is a crown for all the achievements of all these players standing on the stage.

I've had by far the most successful season of my life and I'll try my side to keep it going. Of course it's not going to be easy.
