Serena Williams' US Open semi-final with Roberta Vinci rescheduled due to rain

Serena Williams' quest to complete a Grand Slam clean sweep has been delayed until Friday because of rain.
Williams, who is trying to become the first tennis player since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win all four Grand Slam singles titles in the same season, was due to face Italian Roberta Vinci in the semi-finals of the US Open on Thursday.
But with torrential rain expected at Flushing Meadows, the US Tennis Association has taken to the decision to postpone both women's semi-finals.
The matches between No1 seed Williams and unseeded Vinci and No 2 Simona Halep and No 26 Flavia Pennetta have been rescheduled for Friday, starting at 11am (4pm BST).
The men's semi-finals will then be played afterwards, beginning at 5pm (10pm BST), two hours later than originally scheduled.
Williams v Vinci was supposed to start on Thursday night at 7pm (12am Friday BST), followed by Halep v Pennetta.
