Finn Balor retained the NXT Championship by beating Samoa Joe in a thriller as NXT TakeOver ventured to London for the first time.

The Irishman pinned Joe following a Coup de Grace at Wembley Arena to keep hold of the title he won from Kevin Owens in July but not before being taken to the limit by his challenger.

Joe recovered from a febrile start by Balor to wear down the champion with myriad submission holds, including his trademark Coquina Clutch.

But the Wicklow wrestler wriggled free of those manoeuvres and Joe's Muscle Buster attempts to floor his larger opponent with chops and then land the match-sealing move off the top rope.

Bayley remains gilded, too, after conquering Nia Jax in TakeOver: London's Women's Championship match, the fan favourite finally forcing Jax to tap out to a guillotine chokehold.

Dash and Dawson, meanwhile, kept hold of the NXT Tag Team Championships with victory over Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore, Dawson's Shatter Machine on Amore securing the triumph.

Plus, Asuka dealt with interference from Dana Brooke to down Emma with a spinning kick, while Baron Corbin handed Apollo Crews his maiden singles loss in NXT by administering End of Days.
