Seth Rollins gate-crashed TakeOver: San Antonio on the night Bobby Roode became NXT Champion for the first time.
Rollins, seething at losing his spot in Sunday night's Royal Rumble Match after becoming distracted by Triple H's music on Raw, jumped into the ring between bouts and called out The Game.
Triple H, who cost Rollins the Universal Title in August, did appear but only to inform security to escort his former protégé out of the building.
Rollins left the building in a foul mood - but Roode departed in a great one, having dethroned Nakamura with a Glorious DDT in the main event.
Nakamura injured his knee when he flew onto his challenger on the ring apron and looked visibly pained after he connected with a Kinshasa kick, leading to him being tended to by medics.
The Japanese was able to kick out of one Glorious DDT but not the second, meaning Roode became the 10th man to win the NXT Title and the third Canadian after Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
Elsewhere, The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) beat #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) to become NXT Tag Team Champions.
Asuka downed Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in a high-octane Fatal Four-Way to retain the NXT Women's Title - Cross taking a tumble through a table amid the carnage.
Plus, Eric Young overcame Tye Dillinger with a wheelbarrow neckbreaker and Roderick Strong downed Andrade "Cien" Almas with a Sick Kick.
