Finn Balor got physical at Wednesday's NXT tapings in Orlando as he stepped up his recovery from shoulder surgery.
Irishman Balor has been of action since sustaining a labrum tear at SummerSlam in August and told fans at the University of Central Florida that he was still not medically cleared to compete.
However, the 35-year-old was still able to clothesline Andrade "Cien" Almas from the ring and strike reigning NXT Champion Bobby Roode with a Sling Blade and a dropkick after rushing to the aid of Shinsuke Nakamura.
Balor defeated Seth Rollins at SummerSlam to become the first Universal Champion but was forced to vacate the title a night later due to his injury.
The former NXT Champion, who was drafted to Monday Night Raw in July, has been keeping fans up to speed with his progress via his Twitter and Instagram accounts over recent months.
Balor also appeared at the United Kingdom Championship Tournament in Blackpool in January, a competition won by Dudley teenager Tyler Bate.
