Triple H says WWE will "serve the human being first" when it comes to a decision over allowing Daniel Bryan to wrestle again.

Bryan is currently being used as the general manager of SmackDown Live following his retirement in 2016 due to a series of concussions but has regularly stated his desire to return to active competition.

In November, Bryan's wife Brie Bella revealed he has been cleared by several doctors to return to wrestling and that WWE are examining their findings.

But Triple H, WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative, provided an update which suggests Bryan will not be allowed to return.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour panel, Triple H said WWE will make "no exception" to their medical policy.

"If the belief is that he's not healthy enough and it is a risk to perform, then I don't know why we would ever allow him to step in the ring unless it can be proven otherwise," he said. "There can be no exception, medically,

"We have some of the best medical people in the world working for us. Our wellness policy, our concussion programs, our protocols - I'll put them up against any on the planet.

"The medical experts will make the determination of whether Bryan can set foot in that ring or not, personally, for him, I know it's something he loved doing and only hope he has that opportunity.

"But at the same point in time, he's married and has a child. We serve the human being first."
