Brock Lesnar has passed CM Punk's record to become the longest-reigning top-tier WWE champion of the modern era.
Lesnar has now been in possession of the Universal championship for 435 days; although technically it is a different title to the one held by Punk, both are recognised by the company as their highest-level singles titles.
The former UFC heavyweight champion is now WWE's longest-reigning title-holder since Hulk Hogan held the world title for more than 1,500 days between January 1984 and February 1988.
Lesnar's most recent title defence was at the Greatest Royal Rumble, where he defeated Roman Reigns in a controversial steel-cage match main event, which took place 13 months after he won the belt from Goldberg at WrestleMania 33.
He is not scheduled to defend the Universal title at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view event on Sunday.
Punk held the WWE title for 434 days between November 2011 and January 2013 and made 141 defences of it during that time. To date, Lesnar has defended the Universal title 10 times.
