India batsman Rahul Dravid has spoken of his determination to cap a glittering career with a first Test series win in Australia.
The veteran right-hander will pad-up in the upcoming Boxing Day Test against the Aussies in Melbourne hoping it will be a case of fourth time lucky for the 38-year-old.
Dravid made his debut against England in 1996 and since then he has scored 36 Test centuries in 160 matches, while compiling more than 13,000 runs at an average of 53.22.
However, he has never tasted victory in a Test series in Australia and that is a statistic he is hoping to put that right during the early months of 2012.
Goal
He said: "I wouldn't have minded scoring five hundreds fewer or 1,000 runs less if we could win a series in Australia.
"The greatest memory for me now is not necessarily statistical. It's not the number of runs, it's those magical moments. The series wins in Tests stay with you.
"I think that's what you play for at this stage. I don't have anything in terms of my own numbers or statistics that I want to achieve in Australia but I want to win a Test series here and help the team win in Australia.
"It is something that we have never done. So every time you tour here you want to get that goal. It's not going to be easy, it never is, but I think the team's goal is to try to win a series."
The first Test starts on Boxing Day, with India still without a series victory in 64 years of trying.
