Pre-season friendlies round-up: Ross Barkley on target in Everton win

Goals from Gerard Deulofeu, Ross Barkley and Muhamed Besic helped secure a 3-1 pre-season friendly win for Everton over MK Dons on Tuesday night.

The Premier League side went in front at stadium:mk after just two minutes when Deulofeu capitalised on a mistake to tap home.

Barkley grabbed their second before a fine finish by Giorgio Rasulo got MK Dons back in the match, but Besic nodded home with four minutes to play to wrap up the victory, Everton's second in pre-season under Ronald Koeman.

They face Dynamo Dresden next on Friday.

Action from Oakwell as Hull City scored late to get a 2-2 draw with Barnsley

Josh Ginnelly's late strike earned Burnley a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium.

Andre Gray won and converted a first-half penalty to put the Premier League new-boys ahead, before Jay Spearing pegged them back with a well-taken goal that went in off the post.

Ginnelly denied Bolton a share of the spoils when he fired home from a tight angle in stoppage time.

Hull City grabbed a 2-2 draw against Barnsley at Oakwell to preserve their unbeaten pre-season record.

Barnsley went behind when Adama Diomande calmly put the Tigers ahead, latching on to a through ball to turn home on 16 minutes.

Two goals by Tykes' summer signing Tom Bradshaw turned the game around, before Jarrod Bowen's 86th-minute equaliser rescued a draw for Hull, once again managed by caretaker boss Mike Phelan following the departure of Steve Bruce.

Newcastle ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over Southend United at Roots Hall thanks to two second-half goals by Vurnon Anita and Yoan Gouffran.

Aston Villa did likewise against Cambridge United, beating their League Two opponents 3-0 at The Abbey Stadium.

Scott Sinclair and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy hit a quickfire double to put Villa in front inside nine minutes, before Gary Gardner added a late third.
