Yannick Carrasco, Jose Fonte and Nicolas Gaitan suffered embarrassing debuts on Saturday when their first match for Chinese side Dalian Yifang ended in an 8-0 defeat.
Dalian travelled to last season's runners-up Shanghai SIPG on the opening day of the season having been bolstered by their three high-profile new signings.
Fonte left West Ham to join the Chinese side in February, with David Moyes saying the Portuguese defender wanted to boost his hopes of making their World Cup squad.
Carrasco and Gaitan joined Dalian, who were playing their first match in the CSL after being promoted, a few days later, with both players leaving Atletico Madrid.
All three of Dalian's new signings started the game at the Shanghai Stadium, but they were on the back foot after just one minute when Oscar opened the scoring.
The former Chelsea midfielder went on to score a hat-trick, with Brazilian forward Hulk also scoring a penalty.
Fonte failed to finish the match after being substituted with 10 minutes to play - when his team were already 6-0 down.
