Mauricio Pochettino salutes Tottenham's 'best performance' in loss to Manchester United

Mauricio Pochettino says his side were fantastic, but it can be an unfair game sometimes as Tottenham fell to defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League

Mauricio Pochettino conceded David de Gea was the difference as Manchester United beat Spurs, despite what he labelled 'the best performance' of his tenure.

Spurs did everything but score at Wembley as De Gea pulled off 11 saves, some of which were spectacular, as United made it six wins from six under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a 1-0 victory.

"I am so pleased and I'm proud," Pochettino told Sky Sports. "After four-and-a-half-years, the second half was the best performance I have seen Tottenham play.

"It was amazing and I think De Gea made 11 saves, which is unbelievable. In football, sometimes you deserve to win and don't and other times, you do not and you win. That is why we love football.

Mauricio Pochettino admits Harry Kane's ankle injury could be a ‘massive problem’ for Tottenham

"We dominated in the first half but we didn't organise ourselves well when we lost Moussa Sissoko and that is how we conceded the goal.

"United were deeper in the second half, but to play against that system it was amazing to create 11 chances in the second half. I feel so proud and I am leaving Wembley with a good feeling.
