Premier League, Championship, League One & League Two permutations: Where can your club finish?

By Adam Smith, Data and Analysis @AdamDatasmith

Where could your team finish this season?

We've got the highest and lowest potential finish for every club in England's top four tiers, according to transfermarkt.co.uk data.

Premier League

It's a two-horse race atop the Premier League table with Liverpool and Manchester City on faultless win streaks and waiting for the other to blink first.

City are preparing to capitalise on their game in hand and take the driving seat on Wednesday with a win in the Manchester derby, live on Sky Sports.

The remaining 'big six' teams are thrashing it out for a top-four finish, with Manchester United hoping to take advantage of Arsenal's 3-2 defeat against Crystal Palace.

Four teams could still join Huddersfield and Fulham in the Championship next season. Cardiff are on the brink, but Brighton, Southampton and Burnley could still face the drop - although Sean Dyche's side are virtually assured safety.

Championship

Norwich, Sheffield United and Leeds could all be crowned champions or miss out on promotion entirely - although two of those teams will be playing in the Premier League next season.

All three have guaranteed a place in the play-offs, but could still be joined by seven other candidates: West Brom (guaranteed), Aston Villa, Derby, Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea.

At the other end of the table, Ipswich and Bolton have been relegated already, leaving Rotherham, Millwall and Reading in the fight for survival - although the Royals appear to be safe.

League One

Nothing is assured at the top in League One. Luton, Barnsley, Portsmouth or Sunderland could still be crowned champions - while Charlton could also creep into runners-up spot for automatic promotion, albeit unlikely.

Meanwhile, Doncaster, Peterborough and Coventry are also in the hunt for the final remaining play-off place.

In terms of relegation, League One remains wide open - only Bradford have been consigned to League Two.

Incredibly, 11 other teams still, technically, face the prospect of life in England's fourth tier next term, with Walsall teetering closest.

League Two

Lincoln City have been crowned League Two champions, while Bury, Mansfield Town, MK Dons, Forest Green and Tranmere Rovers are fighting to secure the remaining two places for automatic promotion.

Teams currently residing as low as Swindon in 14th place still have a chance of reaching the play-offs - although such an outcome is extremely unlikely.

Notts County, Yeovil and Macclesfield are struggling at the foot of the table - with two of those teams facing the drop come May.
