With the final games of 2015 now played, the league table for the calendar year is complete and it tells a tale of success and failure up and down the country.

Arsenal picked up more points than any other Premier League club, but even they couldn't match Burton Albion who averaged 2.15 points per game in 2015.

The Brewers won promotion from League Two under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, with the wins continuing into the current campaign.

Arsenal and Middlesbrough were the other teams to average over two points per game in 2015, with defending Premier League champions Chelsea finishing outside the top 20 clubs in the country.

Down at the bottom, Aston Villa's miserable year is confirmed by the table. They averaged 0.66 points per game - worse than Cheltenham and Tranmere, who are no longer in the Football League.
