Sheffield Wednesday vs Norwich preview

Image: Fernando Forestieri has returned to training with Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday have been boosted by the news that Fernando Forestieri has resumed training ahead of the Championship game against Norwich.

Forestieri, recently fit again after a hamstring injury, suffered a knock in the Owls' 2-1 win at Bristol City and has missed the last three matches.

Saturday's game may come too soon for the 28-year-old so either Lucas Joao or Atdhe Nuhiu will partner Steven Fletcher up front. Gary Hooper is set for 10 weeks on the sidelines after undergoing groin surgery while Kieran Lee (knee) is also unlikely to return before 2019.

Norwich loanee Jordan Rhodes is unavailable to play against his parent club. Boss Daniel Farke is expected to make several changes to his team as the Canaries revert back to Championship action.

Farke swapped eight players for the Carabao Cup tie at Bournemouth on Tuesday night, with Christoph Zimmermann, Jamal Lewis and Alex Tettey the only players to keep their places in the team from the previous weekend. The side that takes to the field at Hillsborough will closely resemble that which defeated Brentford last Saturday, with the likes of Tim Krul, Maximillian Aarons, Timm Klose and Moritz Leitner set to be recalled.
