Coventry 1-1 Ipswich: Tractor Boys fail to close gap on leaders Wycombe

Highlights of the Sky Bet League One clash between Coventry and Ipswich.

Ipswich missed the chance to close the gap on League One leaders Wycombe to two points after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Coventry.

Will Keane's first league goal of the season was cancelled out by Maxime Biamou's second-half strike in a pulsating encounter between two promotion hopefuls.

Gwion Edwards and Alan Judge fashioned a golden opportunity 24 minutes in as they raced away with just Coventry goalkeeper Marko Marosi to beat, however Judge bundled the ball wide of the post.

Ipswich soon began to gather some momentum and they were rewarded in the 31st minute when a short corner routine allowed Luke Garbutt to dink a ball into the penalty area where Keane was lurking, and the striker placed his header into the far corner.

Keane was denied a second just minutes later when he directed a powerful header off the post.

A fired-up Coventry returned for the second-half and a defence-splitting pass from Liam Kelly allowed Biamou to slot a composed finish past Will Norris.

A brawl between the teams broke out after an off-the-ball incident between Ipswich's Edwards and Coventry's Sam McCallum.
