The Chinese investor who co-owns French club Nice is in talks to buy a 50 per cent stake in Brentford.
Chien Lee has made his fortune from Plateno Group, one of the largest hotel companies in China and the Far East, and the investment company NewCity Capital.
There is no guarantee the Brentford deal will go through, but if it does, the west London club would be valued at about £60m.
Brentford's latest accounts, filed this week at Companies House, show the club made a pre-tax loss of £7.6m last season.
Owner Matthew Benham has invested almost £90m in the club over the past eight years.
There are already three clubs with Chinese owners in the Championship - Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
West Bromwich Albion are also owned by a Chinese company.
