Wycombe 3-3 Peterborough: Adebayo Akinfenwa scores twice in pulsating draw

Highlights of the Sky Bet League One match between Wycombe and Peterborough.

Two goals from Adebayo Akinfenwa, including a stoppage-time penalty, saw 10-man Wycombe snatch a thrilling 3-3 draw against Peterborough.

Peterborough were two up before half-time through Mo Eisa and Josh Knight but high-flying Wycombe pulled level just after the hour mark to set up a tense finish

The visitors retook the lead through Ivan Toney 20 minutes from time, but Akinfenwa's last-gasp penalty helped the Chairboys, who lost Curtis Thompson to an 83rd-minute red card, avoid only their second league defeat of the season.

Eisa opened the scoring after just 10 minutes with his ninth goal of the season, with Knight adding a second from a corner in the 38th minute, blasting home at the pack post.

After the break, Akinfenwa's far-post header from a long free-kick pulled one back before Frankie Kent bundled a Jack Grimmer cross into his own goal to level things up in the 63rd minute.

Parity lasted just seven minutes, with Toney finishing acrobatically from a corner to make it 3-2.

Wycombe then lost Thompson to a second booking, but despite that the home side were still able to salvage a point when Scott Kashket was hauled down in the box and Akinfenwa duly stepped up to convert on his 150th appearance for the club.
