Juventus have confirmed Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia has arrived in Turin to undergo a medical.
Benatia was a reported target for Manchester United two years ago, and flew into the city for talks over a possible move, but it was then Bayern boss Pep Guardiola who won his signature.
The Morrocan centre-back made 22 appearances for the Germans last season, helping them secure their fourth successive Bundesliga title.
Benatia, 29, spent four years in Italy between 2010 and 2014 with Udinese and later Roma, who he represented for just one season before earning a move to Bayern.
New Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti took charge at the club for the first time this week and has already seen Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg depart for Southampton in a £12m deal.
