Whee Kim could not contain his delight after winning a luxury BMW with a hole-in-one during the third round of the CIMB Classic in Malaysia.
Kim was well out of contention after a disappointing second-round 75 on Friday, but he made an encouraging start on day three when, after teeing off at the 10th he picked up a birdie at 12 and was two under for the tournament when he arrived on the 15th tee.
The tricky par-three was playing 207 yards long for the third round, and the 25-year-old hit a perfect, smooth five-iron with a soft draw that pitched 20 feet short of the pin, released nicely and took the right-to-left break as his ball made it's way straight into the cup.
Kim, making his debut in the event, was then informed he had won a BMW 740LE xDrive hybrid car worth around £75,000 for his wonder shot, and he plans to make full use of it when it returns to his new home in Dallas, Texas.
"That's my first hole-in-one in a tournament, so it's pretty exciting," said the 25-year-old, who went on to sign for a one-under 71 which left him 19 shots behind leader Pat Perez.
"It was a perfect yardage so I just hit smooth five-iron and it landed perfect and it's gone in. I just bought a new place in Dallas so I was going to buy another car, and I think I got a good one!"
