Ian Poulter went from title challenger to battling to make the cut after a hole to forget during the second round of the Hong Kong Open.
The Englishman made a strong start to the week and briefly moved inside the top 10 during his second round on Friday, but only made the cut on the mark after a frustrating finish in Fanling.
Poulter posted a two-under 68 on Thursday and was three under in the second round after three birdies in a five-hole stretch around the turn.
His momentum came to an abrupt end at the par-four 15th, where Poulter sent his approach into the rough before chunking his chip into the sand.
After two failed attempts to get out of the bunker, Poulter's third got back into play but shot across the green and into the fringe before a long range two-putt completed a quadruple-bogey eight.
Poulter then lost his cool with the cameraman he felt had ran across his view as he was playing his shot, wagging his finger at the offender before carrying on to close a two-over 72.
