Petkovic is an up and coming star on the women's tour and has underlined her potential during this season's Grand Slams. The Bosnian-born German beat Maria Sharapova en route to the last eight of the Australian Open and she also made the quarter-finals of the French Open, where Sharapova took her revenge. Petkovic has proved a crowd favourite at both events, playing the game with a smile on her face - while she knows how to celebrate. Her 'Petko-dance' has emerged as a popular post-match celebration with the fans. She could only manage to reach the third round at Wimbledon in just her second outing at SW19 but grass isn't her favourite surface. Earlier this season Petkovic won the second ranking event of her career with victory over Marion Bartoli in Strasbourg while she heads to Flushing Meadows on the back of a run to the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Masters.
