The British athlete claimed victory by just four thousandths of a second over Amantle Montsho in Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Monday, breaking Kathy Cook's 29-year-old national record in the process.
Ohuruogo also claimed the world crown in 2007 but has now targeted glory in Brazil, where she will be looking to win a second Olympic gold medal after being forced to settle for silver at London 2012.
"Rio is the long-term aim but I have to just plan the next couple of years really carefully to make sure I get enough downtime that I can build back up again," she told Sky Sports.
"The 400m is a very gruelling event and we all get killed off by injuries someway down the line, so you really have to be careful with the training.
"Getting enough to readjust and recover, that is what would allow me to get to Rio."
