Tensions between the British rivals boiled over when they appeared on 'The Gloves Are Off'

Whyte has carefully rebuilt his career since suffering his first professional loss to Anthony Joshua almost a year ago, but could find it hard to resist a world title offer if he produces an impressive win over Chisora this weekend.

"It's all about stages and I believe that I'm moving through the ranks properly," Whyte told Sky Sports. "The fight is a big fight and I want one just up from that, because I believe I'm two fights away from a world title after this one.

If I go in there and blow Chisora out in a few rounds or whatever, or go in there and box his head off, then I've proved to myself and my people that I'm ready and I'm there now.

"We want one just above Chisora and then someone else, and then move onto the world title fight, that would be ideal for me.

Whyte has teamed up with new trainer Mark Tibbs this year and admits there is still work to be done, but the 28-year-old is confident the best years of his career are yet to come.

"Thank god I'm a tough kid, obviously I did a bit of kickboxing which gave me enough experience going into the pros," said Whyte.

"I learned because I'm tough and resilient but still so much to come, much to learn, conditioning needs to get better, needs to get stronger. I'm still under 30 years old, so I'm only going to get stronger."
