Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has dismissed the notion WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will win their upcoming fight because of experience.
The 25-year-old Mexican (45-1-1-KO32) has only ever lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr - who also beat Cotto (40-4-KO33) - and having held world titles at light-middleweight, believes he has the nous to take the older man's crown in Las Vegas on November 21.
In an interview broadcast on thaboxingvoice.com, Alvarez said: "He can say many things and that's fine but the only ones who are going to know are me and him. We'll be in that ring and we'll see what happens on fight night.
"I might be a young fighter but I also have a lot of experience so I don't think it's an advantage for either side. We are both going to prepare well and whoever is better prepared will win.
"We are going to analyse videos of everything. The wins, the losses. Everything. That's how we're going to come up with our game plan. If I can utilise anything, I'll utilise it.
"There are no secrets - I've been fighting around 154lbs and 155lbs so I feel comfortable at this weight. This is my weight class."
Alvarez was last in action in May when he recorded an emphatic third-round stoppage of James Kirkland in Houston, Texas.
Cotto, 34, made the first defence of his title when he halted Daniel Geale in four rounds in June and is the only Puerto Rican to have won world titles in four weight divisions.
