Anthony Joshua tops bill as Jamie Moore looks at week's big stories

Anthony Joshua is the biggest news this week but with David Price not far behind, Jamie Moore gives us his heavyweight thoughts.

There is also the small matter of the countdown to Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg and the announcement of an all-American welterweight world title fight coming our way.

Who will be in tune, Keith Thurman or Shawn Porter, and to end it all, can Moore pull the right strings?

Anthony Joshua will fight Charles Martin for the IBF world title in only his 16th fight. Is it a big risk for AJ?

First of all I think Joshua beats Martin quite comfortably even with his lack of experience, and Martin hasn't been around that long either. That doesn't make it such a big gamble but certainly a calculated gamble for AJ. But the big punt is, if and when he wins, he is then at the level where he has to box anyone, as IBF world champion.

Here's a look at IBF world heavyweight champion Charles Martin.

Even Joshua admits he is still learning but it means he will have to learn on the job, at the very highest level. Will that be a problem? I am not sure - it depends on who is in with him but all of a sudden, you are talking about the experienced campaigners like Kubrat Pulev or Alexander Povetkin. The stabilisers are off and the L-plates are off now. Of course, I think Joshua should cope with it but it will be interesting to see what happens.

You might not have trained with David Price, but is him linking up with David Coldwell a good move?

It's not a good move, I think it's a great move, I really do. Dave Coldwell has established himself as one of the best trainers in Britain. He's doing well with Tony Bellew and we know Bellew and Price are mates, but even if they didn't discuss it, it just shows how Dave's pedigree talks.

What has happened to Price has been absolutely scandalous and no matter how much those two fighters (Tony Thompson and Erkan Teper) can be reprimanded or brought to justice, it is not going to reverse the psychological damage it has done to him. But, this is a new beginning and getting over all that is the biggest test. Pricey's talent has never been an issue, so it is down to Dave to improve those psychological issues and that is going to take time. He's got to be matched well over the next nine to 12 months, but there is mileage in him that's for sure.

The war of words between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg has started, so right now, who have you got winning the mental battle?

I've got to admit, Scott has surprised me. He's always been a man of few words. He's never come out with too many words and looked uneasy whenever he did. But in this build-up he has exuded confidence and even this far out, it is given us a different look at it.

Joe Gallagher has questioned Shane McGuigan's skills as a trainer

As soon as this was announced - and even when it was a pipe dream - I thought Frampton would win, but all of a sudden, having seen Scott's demeanour and confidence, it has made me think again. I wouldn't say Carl is rattled and most of it is coming from Scott's team not him, but he does look a little uneasy. But whether it plays a part on fight night I am not sure, because he is a true professional and when that bell goes, it all goes out of the window anyway.

Sky Sports are going to show Keith Thurman defending his world title against Shawn Porter? What do you expect from 'One Time'?

Thurman, even though he has picked up a few good wins of late, hasn't been tested at this level yet, so this could well be his break-out fight. I am sure Thurman is seeing this as the chance for him to make a statement and prove he is as good as he's saying, so he can mix it up with those big welterweight names. Winning isn't enough on this one.

But don't forget Shawn Porter is a very good fighter. Beating Adrien Broner was a terrific win and don't forget how close it was against Kell Brook - and what a fan of his I am. Style-wise this one will work well - Porter is the short, stocky, come-forward fighter and that should play right into Thurman's hands. But Porter, I think, has been harshly treated after that Broner win, so he will also be going to get that win and make sure his name is out there. I'm still going with Thurman though, because I think he's the real deal.

We've all seen Thurman is a bit of a musician, so have you ever hit the right notes yourself?

I've never played an instrument, I'm afraid. I always wanted to be able to play the guitar but by the time I got to sit there and try and learn how to play it, I'd been battered so much boxing, my hands were stiff and I just couldn't do it.

WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman shows off his musical skills

It was one of my dreams though, when I was training and just bored, starving, dieting with nothing to do, to be able to sit there and strum away. Any boxer will tell you there are hours when you've got nothing to do. A guitar would've been perfect.
