Kell Brook showed his class by stopping Kevin Bizier inside two rounds

Kell Brook stopped mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier in less than two rounds.

The IBF world welterweight champion produced a perfectly-timed, precise and powerful performance in front of his huge Sheffield following.

Brook put Bizier down halfway through the second round and it didn't take long for him to take his record to 36-0 with a brutal finish that showed the difference in class between champion and mandatory challenger - and of course, the man himself reiterated his desire for big names and much tougher tests afterwards.

"I wanted to warm into it and have an all-out war for you guys but he couldn't stand up to him," he told Sky Sports.

"I hit him with a shot and that was all she wrote. I've got my mandatory out of the way and we're going to get the big fight now.

Brook says he wants a big-name opponent in the summer

"I've got power that can knock heavyweights out. That's what we have to do now - make a big fight. I need a bit between my teeth, a threat on my hands to really drive me.

"I love that green [WBC] belt. Danny Garcia. I'd love [Timothy] Bradley. [Keith] Thurman. [Shawn] Porter. Any in that hat, I'll fight. Let's unify the division and in time, we will move up."

Canada's Bizier didn't really look like he wanted to be there from the off and even if the Special One had ring-rust to contend with, he soon clicked into gear.

Brook's jab was crisp and his right was coming in from behind through the first round and even when Bizier did manage to venture forward, he was caught on the counter, suggesting we were not in for a long night.

The first crunching shot in the second was a right uppercut that left Bizier's nose bloodied and the Sheffield star doubled up a jab before a punishing straight right sent the challenger into a slump on the bottom rope and then on the canvas.

The Sky Sports pundits agreed that Brook can mix with the best welterweights

He did make the count - just - and seemed to give it his last hurrah with a rare surge forward; a wild right leading him in but only serving to set up Brook's finishing salvo.

It was a classic countering left that saw Bizier pay the price, then a right and another six unanswered shots left Bizier's bravery outweighing his balance.

The Canadian was left in a heap having tried to return to his feet but couldn't and in less than five minutes, it showed that Brook's knuckles were no longer itching, but he wants to get his hands on a big-name fight next.
