Daniel Jacobs is targeting a clash with Gennady Golovkin after retaining his WBA middleweight title with a knockout victory over Sergio Mora in Pennsylvania on Friday night.
The American (32-1 KO29) produced a dominant performance at the Santander Arena, knocking Mora (28-5-2 KO9) down five times on his way to victory, with referee Gary Rosato calling time on the bout in the seventh round.
In the aftermath of his victory, Jacobs insisted Golovkin was the man he wanted to face next, but only if the Kazakh knockout specialist secured victory over Kell Brook at The O2 Arena on Saturday night.
Golovkin will put his WBA 'Super', IBF and WBC middleweight titles on the line against reigning IBF welterweight champion Brook, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
"I want to prove to the world that I'm the best middleweight," Jacobs, who also defeated Mora last year despite being knocked down in the first round, said.
"If (Golovkin) gets the victory, that's who we want."
Meanwhile, undefeated Robert Easter (17-0 KO14) claimed the vacant IBF lightweight title with split-decision victory over previously unbeaten Richard Commey (24-1 KO22).
Easter edged the early rounds of a highly competitive clash, but had to recover from a powerful right that forced him to touchdown in the eighth.
Commey, who appeared to be faring better in the later stages of the fight, was wobbled by a hard right from Easter in the final round but managed to regain his composure.
It was the first time that either fighter had reached the 12th round in their respective careers, with Easter and Commey each winning the fight 114-113 in the eyes of one judge.
But Easter was ruled the winner with the deciding judge scoring the bout 115-112 in his favour.
"In the last round I caught him right on the chin. That wobbled him. He held on for dear life," Easter said.
"I knew it was going to come down to a split decision. I felt in my heart that I did enough."
