Tyson Fury's uncle and trainer has hit out at the WBA and WBO champion's critics in an angry statement released on social media.
Peter Fury took to Twitter on Sunday night to defend his nephew's accomplishments in the ring in the wake of allegations that the undefeated heavyweight has tested positive for cocaine.
"I make no excuses for no one," Peter Fury tweeted. "I can only trust my family's word. I don't live or socialise outside of the gym!!
"A statement I can 100% make, you don't win world titles on coke [cocaine]. Only dedication & determination #nothing else!!
"Enough of b****** & wanna be heros [sic] on here. On with business as per usual.
"Any d**** on here that's not happy go tell Tyson to his face I suggest. Rather than kiss his a** for autographs then sell em [sic] on.
Fury ended Wladimir Klitschko's 11-year reign at the top of the heavyweight division last November, but has since pulled out of two scheduled rematches with the Ukrainian.
Klitschko has since been offered the opportunity to challenge IBF champion Anthony Joshua and talks are ongoing about the fight being staged later this year.
