Wladimir Klitschko has confirmed he wants to fight Anthony Joshua early next year and believes he has a "couple of big, spectacular fights" left in him.
The former heavyweight champion has endured a frustrating 12 months since losing his IBF, WBO and WBA titles to Tyson Fury last November.
Klitschko has seen two scheduled rematches with Fury cancelled, before a proposed showdown with Joshua in December fell through.
However, the 40-year-old says the prospect of retirement has never crossed his mind and instead he is keen to take on the undefeated Briton in the spring.
"I've never thought about stopping, not once, after the defeat and losing my belts," Klitschko told German newspaper Bild.
"As long as I can perform in the ring, am fit and motivated, I'll keep going.
"I want to box in March or April against IBF world champion Anthony Joshua. That'll be the biggest heavyweight fight for years and hopefully it'll be for three titles."
Hamburg-based Klitschko will turn 41 next March but he intends to prolong his career which boasts 64 wins, 53 via knockout, and just four defeats.
"There will be a couple of big, spectacular fights with me in the ring."
