James DeGale has claimed he would expose Gennady Golovkin's weaknesses if the Kazakh knockout specialist made the decision to move up to super-middleweight.
DeGale, the reigning IBF super-middleweight champion, is preparing to face WBC champion Badou Jack in a world title unification bout in Las Vegas on January 14.
Middleweight king Golovkin has never tasted defeat in the professional ranks and claimed an emphatic fifth-round stoppage win over DeGale's British counterpart, Kell Brook, at The O2 in September.
Abel Sanchez, Golovkin's trainer, has previously hinted that the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, and IBO middleweight champion could make the move up in weight in the near future.
DeGale insists a clash against Golovkin would be his "perfect" fight and believes he has the attributes to claim a stunning victory over the 34-year-old.
"A mega fight to me is a fight that I am in and people think I am going to lose. I am the underdog. Golovkin, it's a perfect a fight," DeGale told Sky Sports News HQ.
"It's a hard fight, but a fight that I think I have a fantastic chance of beating him. He's not the biggest middleweight, so if he moves up in weight, I am going to have the size advantage.
"His boxing ability is very good, he's a former Olympian, he's obviously undisputed world champion, but I've seen weaknesses and I think I can expose them 100 per cent."
