Katie Taylor believes her professional debut represents the first step on a "history making" journey in the sport of boxing.
The 2012 Olympic gold medallist stopped Polish opponent Karina Kopinska in the third round at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.
Super-featherweight Taylor won every prize available in the amateur code and following her smooth transition to the paid ranks is now setting her sights on becoming a pioneer for professional female fighters.
"This was a huge fight for me and a huge fight for women's boxing," she told Sky Sports News HQ. "To have been given that platform was absolutely incredible for me and for women's boxing.
"I've enjoyed this whole process this week. It was a huge pressure week for me and thankfully I produced a good performance last night.
"I think one of the main things for me was that I've always wanted to raise the profile of women's boxing and take it to a new level.
"I definitely feel like I have the right team around me and this is the start of an incredible journey and the start of making history in this sport."
Taylor's next assignment comes on the undercard of the Anthony Joshua-Eric Molina fight at the Manchester Arena on December 10 against an as yet unconfirmed opponent.
"This is the stuff of dreams really, to be fighting on these big cards and to be boxing in front of 20,000 people," she said.
"To box in these big stadiums is incredible."
