Dereck Chisora claims he gained an 'edge' over Dillian Whyte after hurling a table at his heavyweight rival at the pre-fight press conference.

The feuding Londoners became embroiled in fresh controversy during a bad-tempered press conference on Wednesday which was cut short when Chisora picked up a table and threw it towards Whyte.

Security quickly stepped in to prevent another physical confrontation and promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed the fighters will weigh-in separately before Saturday's British title fight in Manchester.

Chisora previously clashed with Whyte during the filming of 'The Gloves Are Off' and believes his unpredictable antics have unsettled the Brixton man and his trainer Mark Tibbs.

"I don't mind the trash talk," said Chisora. "That's what boxing is all about, it's two guys going in the ring, trying to get on each other's edge, but he don't get on my edge.

"I know I got on their edge anyway. My trainer is not even here, wouldn't have anything to say. His trainer knows that."

The verbal sparring continues between Chisora and Whyte ahead of their heavyweight fight this Saturday

'Del Boy' is well known for his outrageous behaviour outside the ring, but insists he was 'chilled' during the press conference and will offer a message of goodwill to Whyte after the fight.

Chisora explains why he lost his cool during the pre-fight press conference

"The game-plan is still the same. We're going to go in there, give the fans what they want to see - a great fight and then I'll wish him all the best.

"Good luck to him and good luck to myself. I don't have confrontations like this at the weigh-in. I'm really under their skin, because his coach is getting involved, talking trash talk, which is great. I like that."
