Dominic Breazeale will face Artur Szpilka in his first fight since suffering a knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua in June.
The Californian produced a brave performance against Joshua in the summer, but a brutal assault from the IBF heavyweight champion in the seventh round ended Breazeale's unbeaten record.
Breazeale still holds ambitions of winning a world title and hopes to edge closer a to shot at WBC champion Deontay Wilder when he appears on the same bill as 'The Bronze Bomber', who defends his belt against Andrzej Wawrzyk in Alabama on February 25.
"I am truly excited to be returning to the ring," said the 31-year-old. "After my last bout with Anthony Joshua, I have been just patiently waiting to get back in the ring and work my way back to another shot at the title.
"My first step in getting there is by beating Artur Szpilka impressively.
"I'm the co main-event on WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder's card and I want him to know that I want a crack at that title.
"What a better way to show him then in person. Alabama has great fans and I can't wait to put on a show for them."
Wilder is also ending an absence from boxing after being sidelined with a broken hand following his stoppage win over Chris Arreola in July.
