A sneak preview of David Haye and Tony Bellew on 'The Gloves Are Off' at 7pm this Sunday night on Sky Sport 1

David Haye and Tony Bellew could not contain their emotions on The Gloves Are Off and Johnny Nelson reveals what happened when the cameras started rolling...

We had learned from previous editions of The Gloves Are Off, which did boil over, and everyone was well prepared for Haye-Bellew.

Haye v Bellew: The Gloves Are Off

There is genuine spite between Haye and Bellew, so we knew it could get really personal. Tony is very sharp with his words, there is no filter there. When Tony wants to let loose, he doesn't know what he's going to say or do.

That cool, calm approach from Haye was working up to a point, but then it bubbled over a bit.

Yes, there was a lot of tension, even before we started filming, and it escalated after the very first sentence. David is cool and laid back and was trying his hardest not to bite. But Tony does not mind creating a bit of chaos, you are in his world then, and that gives him the upper hand.

That cool, calm approach from Haye was working up to a point, but then it bubbled over a bit. We had to separate both of them and it calmed down pretty quickly after it blew up.

I took David Haye for a coffee upstairs. We then intended to go back down and do another 20 minutes, but we only managed to do another four-and-a-half minutes, then we actually cut it dead.

This time they gave me the chance to step in, if it was threatening to kick-off, and the threat of a physical confrontation between Haye and Bellew was dangerously close. We broke it up, because you could see where it was going.

It was everything - tense, mind games, almost physical, and there was no handshake afterwards. Did anyone gain a mental edge? It was 50-50 because neither of them backed down.

I think each time they meet, there is going to be an explosion of emotions, and we will see more in fight week.
