Frank Buglioni will make the first defence of his British light-heavyweight title against Ricky Summers at The O2 on July 1.

The north Londoner claimed the belt with a dramatic late stoppage win over Hosea Burton in December and will top a packed bill of young talent in the capital, live on Sky Sports.

Buglioni was forced to pull out of a scheduled defence against Summers in March due to a cut in sparring, but is relishing the chance to impress on a big stage.

Buglioni ripped the belt from Hosea Burton in a thrilling final round

"I felt sick with the injury at the time but I'm raring to go now," said Buglioni. "I saw the surgeon and he said that my skin is fine and that I'm not susceptible to cuts, so that's a positive for me. It was the head guard that caused it, so we've changed that.

"I live in the gym, always keeping sharp and fit, so it was a setback but I'm on track and I'm thrilled to be topping the bill at The O2."

The 28-year-old insists he is willing to face any of the domestic fighters in his division, including the current WBA champion Nathan Cleverly.

"There's no light-heavyweight in Britain that can beat me, including Nathan Cleverly, so line them up," said Buglioni.

"It's a new chapter in my career. Hosea is above British level and I beat him, so I think that shows how good I am.

Frank Buglioni would welcome a rematch with Hosea Burton

"I want to win the Lord Lonsdale belt outright and then move onto European and world honours, and if the rematch with Hosea presents itself, great."

The undercard is stacked with exciting talent as Ted Cheeseman challenges Matthew Ryan for the English super-welterweight title in an eliminator for the British title, while Reece Bellotti looks to build on his British featherweight title eliminator win over Dai Davies in March.

Conor Benn

Team GB Rio Olympian Lawrence Okolie is hunting a fourth straight first-round knockout in the paid ranks as he features on the same bill as potential cruiserweight rival Isaac Chamberlain.

Conor Benn makes a welcome return from injury and Southern Area super-middleweight champion Craig 'Spider' Richards, super-middleweight Danny Dignum and light-heavyweight Jake Ball all return to action.
