David Coldwell believes Jamie McDonnell will perform best once he moves up to the super-bantamweight limit.

The Doncaster star will firstly face Liborio Solis for a second time in Monaco on November 4 after a disputed decision went the way of the WBA bantamweight champion in their first bout.

I know him inside out, performance wise, and he will perform better at super bantamweight, that's where he will be best.

The rematch will mark the sixth defence of McDonnell's title and trainer Coldwell thinks that although the 31-year-old can still make 118 lbs, he will perform much better once he moves up.

"I've wanted Jamie to move up for a while. I know him inside out, performance wise, and he will perform better at super bantamweight, that's where he will be best," Coldwell told Sky Sports.
