Frankie Gavin reckons he'll be ready for a world title fight by the end of 2013 - but first he must get past domestic rival Jason Welborn on Friday night.

Welborn, however, is warning the champion not to take him lightly. "Gavin's a good boxer and will expect me just to come forward, missing my shots and making him look good," the 26-year-old admitted. "But I've been working on technique and will be taking the fight to him, so if he thinks he can stand with me then he can try it. "In my recent fight against Scott Haywood I broke the guy's jaw and I wasn't even trying to do that, it just came because of my technique and my looseness. I don't try to force the big shots, they just come." Also on the bill, Walsall's Martin Gethin clash takes on Ben Murphy for the vacant British lightweight crown.
