Juergen Braehmer retained his WBA light-heavyweight title with a stoppage victory over fellow German Konni Konrad.
Konrad looked out of his depth, and was sent staggering back against the ropes in the first round.
Braehmer floored him in the sixth with a counterpunch, though Konrad survived the count before quitting with an eye problem in his corner before the start of the eighth.
"I could hardly see out my left eye from the sixth round," Konrad said. "Health is the most important thing."
Braehmer (47-2-KO37) said he noticed Konrad was having trouble with his eye, and so he targeted it for further punishment.
"You know, it's boxing," he said after maing the fifth successful defence of his strap.
"I wanted to show there was a big difference between Konni and me. I wanted to show the best of myself."
