Heavyweight rivals Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte confirmed they'll meet for the British title on December 12 after victories at The O2.
Whyte was first up as he halted former world cruiserweight title challenger Brian Minto in three rounds before Olympic champion Joshua stole the show with a devastating first round stoppage of the previously unbeaten Gary Cornish - becoming Commonwealth champion in the process.
Looking ahead to taking on the man who beat him as an amateur, Joshua (14-0-KO14) told Sky Sports: "I didn't watch him but I heard he got the win. I'm glad to hear he got the W to be honest because now it means we can fight for the British title.
"Credit to Gary where credit is due. He's a big man with a good jab. It's a 12 round fight so I wasn't trying to dish it all out in the first round but I found the shots to end it."
Whyte (16-0-KO13), meanwhile, was critical of his own performance but revealed he had struggled with a shoulder injury during his training camp.
He said: "I'm a little bit disappointed in the opponent and in myself but that's life. I've got the win, got the belt and hopefully I'll get the top 10 ranking and move on to fight Anthony Joshua.
"It was hard not to look past Minto. I know he's game and a tough man so I knew he was going to come to fight but there was no way he was going to beat me.
"I want to step up and give the fans good fight. They stayed behind me when I was going through that rough patch in my career. British boxing has a history of putting on classic fights and I want to be a part of that."
When asked to assess Joshua's performance, the 27-year-old from Brixton said: "Credit where credit is due, he did exactly what I said he was going to do. I think any heavyweight was expecting carnage. All of us.
"He's got power, he's speed and we all know he's got that, but I know I can beat him. Why? Because I am a machine. With him there is a couple of chinks... but I am not going to say what they are when I'm here, live."
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that Joshua v Whyte will take place at the same venue.
